Rafał Cieśla, Ph.D. in legal sciences, scientific researcher, and didactic employee in the Department of Forensic Science of the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics, University of Wrocław, Poland. Rafal Cieśla received a doctorate (Ph.D.) in legal sciences (forensic sciences) at the University of Wroclaw. Doctoral thesis title: Evidence from the technical expertise of documents.

He is interested in the implementation of modern technologies in the field of document examination as well as biometrics and its practical application. Co-founder of Virtual Reality Crime Scene room (VR/IR) for training of students and experts as professional tool use in higher education process. Co-founder and leader of the Document Research Laboratory in the Department of Forensic Sciences at the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics of the University of Wroclaw. Scientific Director (2016, 2018, 2020, 2022, next 2024) and co‐organizer (since 1996) of international scientific conferences devoted to a wide range of issues related to scientific document examination: Wroclaw Symposium on Questioned Document Examination.
